How this measurement works

MyNetSpeed reports measurements that were actually observed by the browser or application server. It does not replace an ISP diagnostic or claim that browser HTTP requests are ICMP packets. Run several samples and compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet before drawing conclusions.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Wi-Fi slower than Ethernet?

Wi-Fi shares radio spectrum and is affected by distance, walls, interference and device capabilities. Ethernet avoids most radio interference.

Should I use 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz or 6 GHz?

2.4 GHz usually reaches farther, while 5 GHz and 6 GHz can provide more capacity at shorter range with compatible equipment.
